As the ancients said, "Ice three feet thick is not formed in a day; water dripping through stone is not achieved in a morning or evening." Although these truths are simple, how many people in the world can truly remain calm in every situation? I may not fully understand, but I know I cannot give up.
Every day, watching the pile of books on my desk grow higher while I remain stuck on math problems, my heart fills with anxiety, confusion, and a sense of being lost. I am eager to understand how to catch up with the "pack," especially in my weak subjects: English and Math. I barely understand English grammar. Although I didn't grasp much in class recently, I am using my evening self-study time to study grammar books. Now I realize that if I had spent more time on grammar during middle school, I wouldn't be struggling so much today.
In the past, I once cared for a narcissus plant. Hearing that it was a beautiful aquatic plant, I looked after it with great care. However, after several months, it still hadn't bloomed; its leaves only grew taller than the pot. I began to wonder if it would ever flower. As days went by, I gradually considered giving up on it. To my surprise, the narcissus finally bloomed, and I inhaled its faint, pleasant fragrance...
I think: Although I am currently exhausted in my studies, I firmly believe that just as that flower eventually bloomed, I too can achieve success!
The weekly exam has ended for all subjects, but I have realized that I have forgotten much of my previous knowledge. Consequently, I often feel it is difficult to keep up in class. Math is particularly challenging; my teacher speaks too fast. Often, before I fully understand one problem, the next one is already being explained. Most importantly, there is never enough time to finish the reference books, so I have to desperately study math during evening self-study. For example, one of the three problems the teacher assigned today was a challenge for most of the class to solve.
As for English class, I hope the teacher would spend less time on grammar. Our foundation in grammar is weak, having had little exposure to it in middle school. With so much being taught now, we simply cannot understand a lot. Grammar is inherently a type of knowledge that is understood through intuition rather than verbal explanation.
However, the comforting news is that I am making progress, bit by bit.
