People often say that silence is golden. Indeed, in certain moments, silence is far more valuable than idle chatter, for it at least does not bore others. However, excessive silence is not a good thing. If one loses even the desire to speak, it means losing the opportunity to express joy and share happiness. I used to be an emotional person, but now I have become calm and unflappable, with no joy, sorrow, or anger. My mind is like a still lake; I sink my heart to the bottom, laughing at the changes of the world and sitting quietly watching the clouds rise. Is this the realm of "water in the bottle, clouds in the sky," a state of transcending worldly affairs?
I hold a basket of wishes in my heart, yet I only see the trail of a single shooting star.

I strongly agree with this perspective: It does not matter what you talk about; what matters is whether you truly keep the other person in your heart and care about their joys and sorrows. Indeed, everything has an end, but it depends on how long two people can sustain even boring conversations. If there is mutual cherishing, before you know it, that connection lasts a lifetime.
A Zen master asked, "Do you think a grain of gold is better, or a pile of mud?" The seeker answered, "Of course, the gold is better!" The master smiled and said, "What if you were a seed?" In fact, by changing one's mindset, one may find liberation.
