On Saturday, our school held the Spring Sports Meet.
I arrived at school early that morning, filled with anticipation. After the opening ceremony, the competitions began. The first event was the "Time Train" race, a strong suit for our class where the girls had never lost before. However, to our surprise, they lost this time, leaving everyone with long faces and anxious hearts. In contrast, the boys surprisingly won. The next event was the "Object Swap Relay." Our class had always won this event, and this time was no exception, though it was a close call. Fortunately, our fastest runners saved the day at the last moment. Finally, it was time for the tug-of-war. The moment the topic came up, our spirits dropped. From second to fifth grade, we had never won this event, having only succeeded once in first grade. This time, despite giving it our all, we were pulled over by Class 1. As graduation approaches, it is a pity that we still haven't won a tug-of-war. What a heartbreaking experience!
Nevertheless, with three award certificates to our name, we returned to our classroom in high spirits.
Accompanied by the bright sounds of the brass band, the long-awaited Spring Sports Meet officially commenced.
With a "bang" from the starting gun, the older students from grades 5 and 6 shot off like arrows. Wow! Wang Shengli was running incredibly fast! Almost the entire school cheered for him, with the shouts echoing throughout the campus. In the end, Wang Shengli took first place!
Before we knew it, it was time for the men's 1500-meter race. Our class had one participant for this long-distance event, Qi Ning, known as our "flying heel" for his exceptional speed.
As the sun set in the west, the sports meet came to an end, and we returned to the classroom with a sense of reluctance.
