Do not obsess over gains or losses, nor compare what you have with what others possess.
True happiness lies in the capacity to love. It is not merely about being loved, but about actively loving others and the world. It lies in having things to do, making each day fulfilling, for matters are not defined by their size but by one’s passion for them. It lies in having expectations, for hope gives life its light. One need not fear humility, but rather the loss of hope.
Life is full of ups and downs. Since you do not rejoice at the rising of water vapor, why should you grieve over the rain? We often wish to reunite with old friends but always look for a "better opportunity." We often wish to hug our grown children but wait for the "right moment." We often wish to write to long-lost friends to express our affection or admiration, but we tell ourselves it is "not urgent." In truth, every morning when we open our eyes, we should remind ourselves that it is a "special day." Every day and every minute are precious. "Someday" and "in the future" should not be excuses for living in the present.
Life is difficult for everyone, and tears are part of the human experience. Even when facing setbacks or injustice, do not give up easily. Even when hurt, do not seek revenge. Giving up implies surrender, while revenge indicates lingering resentment. Life is not for opposition, and existence is not for conflict. Empathy leads to understanding, and reciprocity leads to clarity. Only through understanding can the heart find peace; only through tolerance can the mind find width. Life has its joys and sorrows, gains and losses, wins and defeats. No matter how bitter life may be, do not let it burden your loved ones; no matter what you lose, do not lose true affection; no matter how much you lose, do not lose your conscience.
Simplicity is the main thread of life, while brilliance is its ornament. We cannot avoid the ordinariness of reality, nor should we indulge in fantasies about the future. Never cover one mistake with another. Drowning in a pool of self-correction only weakens you. Only by letting go of your past self can you enjoy the happiness of today. If others do not forgive you, you can choose to forgive yourself.
