It is often said that one's happiness can be judged by whether a smile graces their face the moment they open their eyes in the morning. As society becomes increasingly complex, pressure comes from all directions, and every day demands that we remain resilient.
If I could choose, I would hope to wake up naturally with sufficient energy to handle daily chores; if I could choose, I would look forward to weekends off, spending a slower-paced life with a few close friends, savoring the passage of time; if I could choose, I would hope to travel across the country, experiencing its boundless scenery.
However, we must remain strong every day. Even if we have a hundred reasons not to get up the instant we open our eyes, we must brush our teeth and wash our face at lightning speed, living a life as intense as a battle. After continuous work without rest, dragging an exhausted body with heavy eyelids, our bodies protest silently. Yet, once we get adequate rest, allowing our bodies and minds to be nourished by the sun and rain, our young hearts quickly regain elasticity, sweeping away negative emotions and diving back into the bustling flow of life.
Everyone has their own temperament, pressures, and helplessness. In the workplace, you may feel stuck and mentally drained; in relationships, you may wander through countless twists and turns without meeting your true match; year after year, struggling to save for a down payment on a house, you often find yourself in a state of needing or borrowing money. The life you desire is always ahead, always just out of reach.
Nevertheless, even if there are a thousand reasons to become gloomy and depressed, we must choose to face it with resilience one thousand and one times. Living means experiencing every pang of the heart and every transformation in life. By recalling our own history and the history of our surroundings, we can use them as references for reality, finding comfort within. Even if we cannot immediately attain grand joys, the small happinesses within reach are waiting for our eyes to discover them.
