No matter how vibrant the flowers of the other shore bloom, they are ultimately not a scenery that belongs to us. A pure heart is like a flower blooming within, an eternal landscape in life that never withers. Amidst the mundane affairs of the red dust, we seek tranquility in flowers, sit silently under the Bodhi tree, observing the blooming and fading of flowers in the human world and the changing of seasons from spring to winter. Regardless of what we possess, how much, or for how long, it is merely a possession of a very tiny moment. When others praise me, I remain humble, adding to my virtue; when I boast, I destroy myself, adding to my flaws. No matter when or where we are, we should always maintain a humble heart.
In this world, there are rotten trees at twenty and evergreen trees at eighty. What we do not know does not mean it has not happened, and what we do not understand does not mean it does not exist. The most important aspect of life is not effort, but choice; choice must come before effort. The bottom of the cup is not the deepest hell, but the final destination where life exhales its final fragrance. The end of one life also signifies the beginning of another. The waves of life are experienced through the ups and downs of gain and loss, and the meaning of life is interpreted at this final destination.
Often, there is a certain distance between goals and reality. We must learn to adjust ourselves at any time. Under no circumstances should we live for unrealistic vows and wishes.
When we are hurt, encounter setbacks, or feel down, our first thought is often to seek comfort. Since we know we need comfort, why not comfort ourselves? At such times, we should not dwell on how bad things are, but rather think about how to console ourselves. We should admire those who maintain confidence in the face of flaws. There are no perfect people in this world; if we can smile at our imperfections, then even flaws can become a complement to beauty.
Most of the progress we make in our work is not due to rigidity, but flexibility; not due to stubbornness, but compromise; not due to being right, but feasibility; and not due to the decisive action of a few, but the acceptance of the majority. Realizing ideals is a distant goal, while solving problems is a practical necessity. Where there are good things, there are benefits, and all parties involved have their own interests. Problems have multiple solutions; there is no single right answer.
