People suffer because they pursue the wrong things. Rather than blaming others for one's pain, it is more accurate to say that one's own cultivation is insufficient. If you do not create trouble for yourself, others can never truly disturb you, for the root lies in your own inability to let go. We should always be grateful to those who bring us adversity. Only by knowing, taming, and changing ourselves can we change others. Every wound is a form of maturity.
Be open-minded and do not be petty. Openness is a mindset—a demeanor of not being nitpicky in interpersonal interactions, a capacity to tolerate others' flaws and shortcomings, and a spirit of letting go of setbacks and failures when competing with rivals. Open-minded people are not bound by the many disappointments in life, which allows them to achieve success in various fields. They often have a long-term perspective, easily overcoming immediate obstacles to walk the smooth road to success.
Is there something you fear particularly? I do. I am terrified of being lazy, of not making an effort, and of regretting it in the future because of my current laziness and lack of effort. I also know that fear is useless.
Have you always been alone? Have you ever had a partner? Do you know what will happen to you? I don't know. I don't know how I became this way. I don't know. Looking at myself in the mirror, I can only recognize these pupils, set upon this aged face. Do you know? Sometimes I feel I was born at the wrong time. Perhaps we are both artifacts of the past.
I still like you, only the intensity has faded into silence.
